Default OT: Help the pets too

One click buys a 1/2 bowl of food for animals in shelters.
http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/c...s/CTDSites.woa

I try and remember to do it every day and with the aftermath of
the hurricanes it's even more important. It only takes two seconds
and helps a lot of animals of all kinds.

Don't talk ta me about hard drive maintenance! I can't defrag with either
MS or Norton because of frequent disk writes. ;-(

You may want to give Diskeeper a try, it may handle it. They have a free
15 day trial you can check out.

When I built my current home computer, diskeeper lite came with the
motherboard software package. The defragmenter does work correctly even
when the disk is being written to.

Please don't get me started on file systems that require defragmenting
for correctness.

I ran Diskeeper last night on my Win98SE. It told me to move some files to
another drive as I only had 10% free space and that was making
defragmenting difficult. I did and then ran it again. When I ran Norton
Defrag afterward, my C: drive was completely defragged with 26% free space,
although Diskreet had failed to correct the Shortcuts on the files I
moved, which Norton took care of. I'll run it on D: tonight. I've got it on
a 15 day free trial and just might send them $20 for it. Tnx again, Steve!
