I have a student from Cyprus, and he was just telling me the other day about the charcoal he gets in Cyprus, and it's made from olive pits (pips, eh?). He says that it burns for a long time. I don't know what sort of flavor it might impart to the meat. Joe, I've never seen timidity in any of your prior posts. Make a hot lump fire, pouch up some olive pits in alumifoil, toss 'em on the fire, shut the lid and smell the smoke comin' out the stack. Issa good? Assa nice, trow on a chicken. Issa no good? Ba fungool! Trow da sonamabitch out! Capeesh? -- Nick.
