My son and I are going to Memphis for BBQ in May. Could someone please
tell me where it would be better to stay?

South of 240 near the airport - or-

East of 240

Save yourself a few $$$ and stay in West Memphis. You'll only be 5-10
minutes from Downtown Memphis and your rooms will be 1/2 or less what
comparable rooms would cost in Memphis.

TIA,

Do not stay near the airport. The hotels are dumps and nothing is there but
the airport.

Why not stay downtown? If not, there is a Hampton Inn on Poplar Ave that is
inside the 240 loop that I always suggest to people that has a great
location and you are not stuck all the way out east.

I will give you some recommendations if you want to stay downtown, but as
you know--- it will be around $150/night.

Good idea just be aware there is a construction slow down just after
the bridge. I was driving from West Memphis to N240 around Memphis
Friday.
