So I have a Weber Genesis (silver B I believe) and love it, used it
very successfuly for a year now. However, I just noticed the past
couple times I've used it that it is taking much, much longer to heat
up than it used to. For most of the first year, my biggest problem was
keeping food from burning as the heat got so high so fast. Now, it
takes forever to grill anything. It didn't seem like a gradual problem
either, more like a sudden onset of weak-heat sickness.

I checked the gas and the tank seems pretty full, there's just not a
lot of heat coming out anymore. Any ideas of what could cause this?
Is there something I need to clean off or clear out?

Has the color of the flame changed?

You may have a spider or some such in the gas tube that runs from the Jet to
the burner.

Sounds like you may have tripped the regulator safety device. Below is
the link to the FAQ section at the Weber web site. The second question
in there talks about grills not getting hot enough and how to reset the
safety device. Hope this helps.

You may have run afoul of a safety feature of new OPD tanks.

Close all of the valves, starting at the furthest from the tank. After
you close the tank valve wait a few minutes. Start opening valves
starting at the tank and working your way outwards. If the problem was
due to the OPD design, this procedure should fix the problem.
