Default Oregon Scientific Digi Thermometer

Just picked up this wireless "bbq" thermometer (AW129) at FutureShop. I
couldn't find a Polder (without having to order it online) locally so I
settled for this thing. It takes about 15+ seconds to update itself
...normal? Also the max LCD reading is 199deg F...so much for using it to
measure ambient temps in the smoker. Anyone using this particular unit with
success?
