Yea I guess after a couple of beers that only sounded like a question to
me.thanks for responding anyway.I smoked them with the membrane on because I
got tired of trying to pull it off.I used a rub that I got here but I can't
remember who to thank.Thanks again guys

Seems to be an insatiable desire to remove membranes around here. I've done
that once and didn't see any difference. In fact I kinda like gnawing on the
cooked membrane.

I cook with the bones down and I don't know if this burns the membrane off, or
if I just never notice it after cooking. Like you, I tried to remove the
membrane once, and couldn't see the point.

I believe that it was Cuch, who recommended that just slashing the
heck out of those membranes worked for him. Anybody recall that
thread? Ed? Brick? TFM?

I do Harry. I ate some of them and they were fine. He said to be a tiny bit
careful with the knife so as to not shred the meat.

He used a very sharp paring knife, slipped it under one edge and then just ran
it to the other side of the rack.
