Default Dave's opening

First off, I want to thank Dave and Jill and their boys for being such
great hosts. When I arrived, about 1:30, the line was out the door. I
looked at the faces of the customers who were eating and knew this would be
good.

Thanks to Chef Juke for being such a sharing person. To go through the loss
of his beloved dad, and then contributing so much time and energy to Dave's
opening tells me this guy is really amazing. I've got to believe your dad
is as proud of you as you are of him.

Thanks Big Jim for your stories, your knowledge, and for being a truly fine
human being. I want to visit your place for what I'm sure is some of the
best Q in Florida.

Thanks to the Bruce (the Ol' Hippie) and wife for their gift of a jar of
sauce. Since I didn't get any ribs at Dave's (sold out!), I'm doing 2 racks
tomorrow. My wife says "it's good, use that tomorrow."

Thanks to Jay (Fosco) and wife Diane for chaperoning the bride and groom,
and for providing some world-class beers that I got to try for the first
time. You conducted a fine ceremony, and your words of wisdom should
inspire the bride and groom throughout their lives.

Thanks to Kili and TFM for allowing all of us to participate in their
important event, and for sharing their wedding gifts. I think Nick would
have preferred that you waited till after the ceremony, but that's his old
school beliefs.

Thanks Nick for dressing so formally for this event and giving a gift that
was consummed so quickly. And also to Big Jim, you guys know how to dress.

Thanks to Harry, Saara, Lew and all the others whose names I've already
forgotten, but who provided so much to the events in Wenatchee.

Sorry to all those who couldn't make it. It was fun.

Dick, you are certainly welcome. It was a pleasure to meet ya and a
priveledge for me to actually have The Legendary Fat Man and his bride in my
very own car for the 4-5 hours that I did. What great people.

Thank you for your nice words about the ceremony but I should mention that
in my nervousness I forgot to mention a coupla things.

One was that Dave Bugg had prepared a short reading for the service and I'm
afraid he was completely left out. something that may not have bothered him
too much considering how tired he must have been.

The second thing I meant to mention, and consider myself a complete heel for
forgetting, is that the "world class beer" you mentioned....Unibroue Edition
2004...also know as the "Official Matrimonial Beer Of The Day", was so
unselfishly provided for the enjoyment of all by, not me, but by our great
friend Jack Curry. I did tell a few people, Jack, like the bride and groom,
but I forgot to mention it to the entire group as part of the ceremony as
was my plan. I hope everyone is able to read this and that you will forgive
me for this transgression. I'm a baaaaaaaaad hobbit. A very nice glass was
enjoyed by all who cared to partake, and 2 bottles were given to the bride
and groom after the marraige. One for the 1st anniversary, and 1 for the 5th
anniversary. Maybe they'll last a week.g

Big events often make the best of us a bit nervous and perhaps forgetful or
drunk off our asses. Nevertheless, I'm really glad a good time was had by
all and I do thank you, Fos for all you did for the married couple, the
assembled group and Dave's great opening.

Thank you Dave and Jill for being such great hosts! We'll come back and
try the food some time.

Thanks, Fosco for officiating (and a lot of other stuff I won't get into
here :P). You did a great job even if you forgot a lot of details. We
never knew as you were the consummate professional.

Thank you Jack for the wonderful OMBotD. It was delicious and a great
gift to start the happy couple off right.

Thank you Chef for not breaking my neck even though I deserved it.

Thanks to everyone else that attended in person and in spirit as well!
It was a great event and we are richer for having met all of you. You'll
be happy to know that my Keith has become a convert and has now started
to make sure we don't forget to take pictures ... even in restaurants.

Sorry if I offended. None was intended. T'was truly a great gift and
sharing was in order. Thanks for everything Nick (and Graeme).
Nick's a helluva guy. We (Christy and I) met him in downtown Seattle for
lunch Friday. Ended up getting so smashed we couldn't find the shuttle back
to the hotel. Had to take a cab.

Thanks Nick for dressing so formally for this event and giving a gift

Those boys do know how to dress.

Ahem.....both bottles made it safely home intact. They will be held in
reverence until their due dates.

Thanks Jack.

We couldn't have picked a better minister or a better place and time for the
ceremony.

Fosco was absolutely out****ingstanding!

A memorable event indeed. I even remember parts of it.
