Crush up some whole sweet anise and put a pinch or two in the rub... I use
it all the time... a nice Itallian kick that many enjoy. "Duwop" wrote in message ... Got some real Eye-talian in-laws coming this week and am planning to cook up some chix 'n ribs with Louis' garlic/paprika cole slaw and beans as a side .. Damn shame they're older and don't eat that much, not near as much fun. Too bad there'll be leftovers. :-) Anyway, anyone have an idea how to improve this simple menu? (simple is a good thing) Looking for traditional all-american stuff, and would probably rather substitute than add to the menu. Does it get better than beans and slaw with ribs? TIA Dale -- |

Eh , not cooking Italian, I'm cooking for Italians. ![]() Sonorandude, thanks for the idea, like the concept. BOB, we read from the same cookbook brother. I used to think you guys were full of shit when someone would say "sauce is for mistakes". Well I finally am making ribs where I can claim that's true. Course, that dont stop the wife from guzzling sauce like I do beer. So it takes all types. Leastwise this way we're both happy. Going out right now to get it fired up. -- |

Dale, I think you are doing the right thing. When I travel, I don't want to eat American food, I want to eat what is native to that country. Maybe a little cornbread on the side?
