He isn't. He rightly pointed out that this isn't a binaries group. He
didn't do it in a nasty way, but was very matter-of-fact.

Hi again,

I didn't mean to cause any problems. I did just go and subscribe to the
"alt.binaries.food" newsgroup, but for some odd reason...there are only
about 20 replies to posts there. There aren't even any pictures shown there.
Maybe my ISP handles that newsgroup differently.

I used to post pictures on this newsgroup a long time ago, and nobody ever
complained or mentioned anything about not doing it. So I guess that is why
I thought it was ok to do so.

I guess it might cause problems for people who use slow, dial-up
connections. I remember those days and couldn't imagine going back again.

He may be an asshole, but he's right. Pictures go in
alt.binaries.food.

And nobody's even mentioned the "for sale" yet.

I heard that "Rocky" said:

It's not the slow dialups so much as those folks with them can simply
decide not to view them. But many of us these days have premium news
services becasue ISP's free news servers are so poorly run (see yours
with no binaries up for abf). WHen I look at abf, for example, I see
several gigs of pics (and thousands of posts) up dateing back to the
beginning of June and extending all the way to tonight. On the other
hand, if no one had replied to your post I would not have seen your
pics as my news service filters binaries out of text groups (and a
might nice looking rig it is, I was glad of the links you provided).

Will you get a life. I can't believe this group is turning everything
into picky police state. The guy made a mistake and posted binaries,
said he ewas sorry and quite it. Now you gotta complain about top
posting. Don't read any top posted articles if it bothers you so.

Rocky, don't give up on the ABF group. It's actually quite active. There
is a tendency to post long textual threads there that really don't belong,
but that's because this group got kind of out of hand for awhile. If you
watch ABF for awhile, you'll see lots of pictures posted there. I have
archived over 6,000 pics from ABF.
