I have been watching food network the past 2 weeks, and they have been
hitting on BBQ'ing and Grilling. On several shows, I have seen them do the Pork Butt, and when it is done they put it in a machine... the meat didn't look ground when it came out, but more or less shredded. The pork looked very nice, and looked like it layed on the sandwich better than just pulled pork. What could home cooker use to emulate this process? When I say home cooker... you know the average Joe... those that don't have alot of cash to blow on some fancy shmancy machine. Thanks. |

Not sure what they had on FN, but as the other poster said, two forks work fine for me. The first couple of times it didn't, but this is because I didn't cook it long enough and it was really aggravating, but once I was a bit more patient and left the butt on the smoker and let it get up to a pullable temp, two forks worked perfectly. I use 2 forks as almost all q'ers use, but I use 2 large forks, the kind used for holding a turkey or beef roast when slicing. They have large handles and long tines. I seem to have more control than regular forks for dining. They are more ridged and you can really power shred the butts. |

OK, if the forks aren't enough apparatus for the OP, I felt compelled to do
a little Google search: http://www.carruthers.us/Table%20Top%20Shredder.htm Get the "Hand-Pulled" look! Carruthers Table Top Shredder!" The Carruthers' Table Top Shredder is the answer to all your shredding, mixing and blending requirements. Ideal for all cuts of beef, pork, poultry and processed food applications. The Model 25001 is easy and safe to operate with user-friendly controls. And for those of you with "Big Pits": Carruthers Auto-Shredder!" Carruther's innovative and unique Auto-Shredder is a continuous flow machine with through-put exceeding 1,500 pounds per hour. Perfect for large processors, the Auto-Shredder easily breaks down tough products such as Argentine beef logs with the same efficiency as it does soft products such as cooked chicken breast.he Auto-Shredder utilizes a pre-break system that serves as both a product metering device and initial size reduction tool. It's ease of operation and quick change over saves time and labor costs. Now, will someone buy one of these and let us know how it works? "JD" wrote in message ...
