I asked JetLube www.jetlube.com in Texas what to seal the leaks in my
NBBD with. I figured a guy in Teaxs would know what I'm talking about.
Sure enough, he said an RTV Silicone sealant would do the trick.

Here's a few I googled up:

SAF-T-LOK
Silicone RTV Sealant (stated food safe)
http://www.saftlok.com/stl/tds/rtvs.pdf

Permatex (NOT stated as food safe)
UltraBlack Hi-temp RTV Silicone
http://www.permatex.com/auto/autouh....tem_no= 22072

I wonder if the Permatex is safe to use around food?

That's the stuff! Clean both edges with (I forget exactly) some kinda brake
cleaner solvent. Put EVOO or the lubricant of yer choice on the top edge
and a bead of Perm on the bottom. Close it. Let them mate. Next day, if
there's any parts of the bottom that didn't get squished, wipe the EVoo off
it with the solvent, put more EVOO on top AR, and lay another bead on the
Holidays on the bottom, close and repeat as necessary. Ends up as tight as
a nun's . . . er, habit.

Found a high temp sealant in a standard sized caulking tube in Menards
in the fireplace/woodstove parts area (big box store)-costs about $6 a
tube, works well to 650F. If you get it too hot-it turns into a white
powder-let a fire get away from me-works fine on the wood burner side
of an offset smoker. Food safe? who knows-just seasoned it for half
an hour after it dried without any meat in the smoker. Some of the
automotive high temp rtv works well but is pricey compared to this
stuff. Fireplace stores sell it for 2x what Menards charge and you
apply it like any caulk. Don't get any on your clothes-will be there
forever.
