Default Dual Fuel Pellet and Gas, Louisiana Grills by Dansons, hmm...

Has anyone seen or used a grill from the Lousiana Grills line, by
Dansons Group Inc. out of Canada? Saw a sample of this today and was
very intrigued as I'm looking at a traeger from the excellent
discusion found in this group.

Anyway, it has both pellet heat and gas heat. That would seem like a
useful feature with the theory that the gas could help increase temps
to adequate searing performance for "grilled" foods. That's only my
theory though as I've seen no such claim in their marketing material,
and that assumes both fuels could be burned at once. The dream is the
wood fired grill that can cook from jerky temps to red hot grill mark
levels. Is this the golden bullet?

Is Dansons a known manufacturer of pellet stoves with a reputation one
way or another?

I can't find anymore info than this sparse website, and the dealer was
not quite positive about availability and price. Must be new as I can
find virtually no info.

Follow up: Called the manufacturer and the dual fuel is not available
until at least next year. Some problems with certification as a gas
appliance or some such.

Still intriqued though, these are nice looking units and the design
appears to allow for perhaps hotter max temps at the grill surface
than a traegor for grilling. Yet they still claim a low temp of about
210. They claim up to 600 on the highest setting. They use a
flavorizer type baffle above the firebox, or an optional "Grillmate"
catylist for vaporizing drippings. I've used one of these on a $60
throwaway gas grill and they're terrific. Best gas grill I ever had
and the only one that ever imparted smokey flavor. Sold that with the
old grill for some silly reason.

Anyway, since I'm new to the group maybe I'll take the plunge and
report on the results. Intuition tells me that this is a hotter box
than the treagor as the heat takes a more direct path to the food, but
on the other hand I don't want to give up the very low slow temps of a
traeger. Go with the old tried and trued, or try something new..Hmm..
help me with this decision.
