Lexington #1, Lexington, NC 2. Georgia Pig, St. Mary's, GA 3. Stamey's, Greensboro, NC 4. Skylight Inn, Ayden, NC 5. Log Cabin BBQ, Albemarle, NC Of interest for special items Henry's Smokehouse, Greenville, SC-pork ribs RO BBQ, Gastonia, NC-their slaw http://rosbbq.com/home.htm Maurice Bessinger's Piggie Park, Columbia, SC-SC style hash, Mustard based Q (don't care for it but everyone should taste it once) and his over the top love for everything Confederate. Each of his restaurants has a small area that is kind of a shrine to the War of Northern Aggression. Ott's and Goode's in Houston are pretty good but wouldn't last a week in Lexington. Spent a week in Memphis a year ago and had to quickly go to Lexington #1 to realign my tastebuds when I returned. |

It's my house or, if you haven't been invited, it's Tony Roma's Harry |

Slick's in Muscogee OK. Probably closed (or being run by someone else)
by now, Slick was pretty ancient back in the early 90s when I lived there. On 25 Mar 2004 21:51:03 GMT, (Dav1936531) wrote: ....the absolute best barbecue that you have ever eaten? I'd like to make a list of places that I should visit while traveling. Thanks. Dave |
