My replacement charcoal bowl for the damaged WSM has arrived. It is in
perfect condition. I really have to wonder why they don't package WSMs
as well as they package (expensive) replacement parts. The only reason I
can think of is confused bean-counters.

All I can say after reading of your ordeal, Matthew, is thank God the BBQ
and patio furniture store here in town sells WSM's. So just lemme say that
real quick.

I think it's really that the boxes are designed for shipping to stores,
not via UPS. Weber needs to come up with a different package design for
ones meant to be ground shipped.

That being said, mine came through with nary a scratch, so I feel pretty
lucky overall.
