Default WSM in Canada?

I've been trying to find a WSM on the Canadian prairies for quite a while
now. Nobody carries them in my city. Is anyone aware of a place I could
buy one online? Amazon and other US sites won't ship to Canada. Failing
that, does anyone know of a place that sells them in either Calgary,
Edmonton, or Winnipeg?

Eagerly anticipating barbecue much more often,
Rob

Thanks

I thought I saw them in Bunglers Galore in Calgary. There is also a
'privateer' in SW Calgary that has them. I forget the name, but I'll
track it down.

The weber website (webersite? ;-) shows their Canadian Distributor to
be:
ONWARD MULTI CORP, INC.
585 Kumpf Drive
Waterloo, Ontario
Canada NJV 1K3
Tel: 1.800.265.2150
Tel: 1.519.885.4540
Fax: 1.519.885.1390
Email:

You could call them and ask who they sell to in your area...

I contacted them some time back, when I was trying to buy a chimney
starter, and they suggested I try my local Home Depot or Canadian
Tire. The chap at Home Depot said they could special order a chimney
starter, for $39-odd Canadian. (Compare with the Amazon sale price of
US$10-99). Similarly, I bought my 22" Weber Kettle South of the border
for US$75-odd, as compared to the local Home Depot price of $149-
Canadian (plus $25 assembly, if required).

There seems to be a large selection of Weber gas grills available
locally (Vancouver), but a very limited range of their non-gas
products, at rip-off prices.

I'd be interested to hear if you can order from Weber direct, or if
you find one elsewhere in Canada....

While shopping for something else at the Crappy Tire, I saw a New
Braunfels offset smoker that looks to be pretty thin. Is it as big a
POS as it looks? From reading the faqs, it seems that the wild
Calgary temperature swings would render this nearly useless for slow
smoking. Currently I attempt to smoke the occasional chunk 'o pork
with indirect heat & wood chips in my propane BBQ, but I'm always
looking to improve. Not sure if I want to spend a significant amount
of money on something I may not use often enough.

I'll confirm what some of the others have said. BBQs Galore on Edmonton
Trail in Calgary has them for $279. I was in there on the weekend buying
some lump and they still had 2 -3 in stock, which is a lot lower than the
number they had in stock when I bought mine back in January.

Dan - buy your lump at Can Tire. It is much cheaper and available the
year round. Bunglers have that Mesquite Crap for Tooo much money.

You know, I have been watching Canadian Tire hoping to find some and I
have never had any luck. Even some of the sales associates either give
me the "What?" look or point me to a bag of Kingsford. I'll look even
closer next time since it sounds like it must be there somewhere.

Thanks!

Rob,

I'm in Calgary and I bought mine from Barbeques Galore. Their store is a
couple of hundred yards from my office here. Their website is:

Wanna come and play on a couple of Kamados, Mark? ;o)

What, you got TWO !?

More like Wal-Mart or K-Mart, I would think. Pep Boys is automotive,
period.

I win the dollar I bet myself that someone would follow up to say that
I had overstated the case. Also, where's here? I was just going by
what I saw at http://www.pepboys.com/. No housewares there.

And I'm just going by what I've seen in the store and in their ads here in
Houston.Can't say I've seen housewares, but I wasn't looking for that. I
have, however, seen a lot of non-automotive stuff there.
