Jack, do ya think some diced bell pepper and a little garlic would ruin
it?....I wouldn't wanta ruin anything that good lookin'.
Jack (who IS gonna try this...and cookin' it in the GD has a lot of

appeal.)

Nope, wouldn't ruin it at all. This recipe's just a base map; add whatever
topography you want.

See my reply to BOB's suggestion of a light smoking.

Well lessee...

...smoked 2 turkeys last night that got deboned and taken to the local
nursing home this morning.
...puttin on a brisket and ham tonight about midnight.
...then our bird hits the cooker about 7am tomorrow.

Doin the brisket & ham with hickory, the birds get pecan.

I ain't gonna try to list what else is gonna be on da table but you can

bet
it'll be more than enough for these folks to gnaw down on.

And, before I forget - Happy Turkey Day to one and all!!!

Hey Nick, you welcome to my house.

Wow, Eddie. Thanks for the invite. It sounds great. I'm already in no
condition to drive tomorrow g, since, unlike you, I open my
Tanqueray,[]

Awrite, Nick....its 10:36 pm and you are ALREADY in no condition to drive
TOMORROW? [accolades snipped out of false humility] . . . my wife'll say,
"Are you going to sleep now, honey?" and I will reply, "Hell ****in' no,
dammit, I'm passin' out!"

Just what I did Fos.

I felt kinda guilty this AM when I saw Pres. Bush dishing out food to the
troops in Baghdad and realized that with all the T-Day wishes I had been
giving to all at a.f.b & a.b.f, I had forgotten to send those same wishes
to all our military men and women in Afghanistan, Iraq and around the
world. I hereby correct that, by wishing THEM all a Happy Thanksgiving, a
safe tour and speedy home when the job is done. I'll drink to that!

Semper Fideles!

I had a nice duck with pears and currants, and my companion
had a prime ribeye. We'd started out with escargot (me) and
smoked salmon (her), a fresh tomato-and-mozarella salad (her)
and caesar salad (me), orange and grapefruit sorbet, and
finished with a creme brulet tart (her) and tiramisu (me).
All washed down with a nice Australian syrah.

$180 at the Old Warsaw in Dallas. Ouch!
