Thanky for that little bit of glory there, good buddy.

Smoke and Spice I believe came out just this past year
unless there is more than one book by that same name. Are
you thinking of Sublime Smoke thats been out for 5 years
or so by the same author? I do not have the newer Smoke
and Spice but do have Sublime Smoke. They also have a
book that caters to New Mexico style cooking which looks
interesting.

Smoke and Spice by Cherly Alters Jamison and Bill Jamison
originally came out in 1994 and was revised in April 2003.
I have the original but have not seen the revised. Sublime
Smoke is by the same authors and came out in 1996 so Smoke
and Spice did proceed it.

Bill

I just saw the new edition at the library last night. Checked
it out to compare to the original. So far, I didn't see a great
deal of difference, but they claim many new recipes. They did
revise the equipment section a bit, but a quick flip through I
didn't see a bunch of new stuff. I will delve deeper this
weekend.

For what it's worth...

Does it matter?

I'm surely not an old timer, but not a pup here either. I still manage to
have fun and I get to learn something sometimes, get to teach something
sometimes.

AH, you know exactly what Barbecue is, then. Great!

I sure do however I can't say the same for my brother. Went with the
wife and kids to his house a month or so back and for dinner they
proclaimed we were having Q'd ribs..Hooohooo. Now were
talking...How's bout a cold beer.
Come to find out the 'ribs' were placed into a baking pan, bottled
sauce poured over them, covered with foil and thrown in the
oven...Aaauugggh!!!

Anyway, needed some more beer. Ate a couple and doing the 'right'
thing stated that they were, ah, 'good'. On the drive home, I started
to mention to the wife, "Well about dinner..", which she promptly cut
me off and said, "I know, I know, don't need to say anything."

Couple weeks later we had them over to our house for some proper ribs.
Rubbed the night before, some hickory in the smoker, couple beers and
were off. They came over and went on and on about how they were the
best ribs they ever had.

Yeah, well from what they served, anything would be an improvement.
Next time, we'll introduce them to pulled pork sandwiches and hush
puppies. They don't even know what it is.

Cheers
Stan

What a wife! That's a keeper!
were off. They came over and went on and on about how they were the

Serving good BBQ, the best revenge, now they never, ever be able to eat
their own ribs without thinking of yours. Heheheheheheheh. BFG

Bet my brother will never be serving me ribs again at his house unless
he wants to know who I made em soooo good. Nothing left but the
bones, and I got no complaints from the mutts on the bones either.
Matter of fact, they loved em.

Exactly. Don't need to even say a word. Let the Q do the talking.

Damn it! It's so cold outside today and I am sooo in the mood for
some ribs, can't use the smoker, shit...Going into winter sucks!!!

Smoker is done for the season, unless we get a late Indian Summer,
then I'll throw a crap load of meat in there to add to what I already
have in the freezer for winter. Perhaps if I have a nice day this
weekend, I can at least grill some ribs. Not the same, but better
than nothing.

Man, I miss my smoker...:-(

Shame on you! ;-P

Indian summer is about done here in CT and cold weather's coming up. As for
smoking here, winter is way too long to do without freshly smoked meat and
fish. Get a coat.

Hey there Jack...Well on my defense, at least I have 'some' smoked
stuff for winter carry-over. Better than nothin'.

Don't have a problem with a coat, but do have a problem with keeping
the smoker stable around 225 deg...Which is why during the winter
months I grill, and the neighbor's give me a look like I'm crazy...Hey
look at that jerk, it's snowing outside and the fool is
grillin'...Yea, and your point is???

Cheers
