I just paid $1.49/lb for 18lbs (2 butts) from a "wholesaler" - I think
I paid too much. What are you guys seeing?

I've just recently seen $1.49 at the super box stores. I
kind of feel that is high.

$1.29 at my favorite meat store. Cheapest in the land.

About every 3 weeks.... like clockwork the local ma & pa store has the
cryovac 2-pack of butts for $.99/lb. I usually wait and stock up at these
times.

Depends on what part of the country. That price is just fine. Regular
price at my preferred retailer is $1.67, and that's on the cheap side. I
wouldn't expect a wholesaler to give me much of a break on 18lbs worth of
butt. I'm sure others pay well over $2/lb - like, northern CA.

I usually see $1.58 up here, but sale prices can run as low as $0.98.

$1.15/pound for "pork shoulder blade roast" at Seattle-area Safeway stores.
Big flabby boneless pork shoulders are $1.39/pound at the local Costco, and
somewhat cheaper at Cash N' Carry. I greatly prefer the smaller roasts from
Safeway. The yield is much higher percentage-wise and IMO the flavor is
way better too. I try to buy the shoulder blade roasts in the mid-4# sizes
and not the larger ones as the smaller ones taste better to me.

What map?
