The local BevMo has Lazzari mesquite lump for about the same price. It's pretty good, and about the cheapest I can find around here. Thanks for the tip. I'll check bevmo. I have only found the kingsford and Cowboy stuff around here but I didn't know it was crap. Looking forward to using it. I've bought these in the past, discarded the pine and cut the almond into chunks and used them in the smoker. Almond wood smoke works well with just about everything. |

I buy 40 lb sacks of generic Mexican mesquite lump at Smart & Final. Don't remember the cost, but it works well for me. -- Nick. Support severely wounded and disabled Veterans and their families! 37-1/2¢/lb is a pretty good price for lump anywhere. Lots of folks are paying up to 70¢/lb. Well, I kinda bragging actually............... bg. It's one of the few things in Norcal cheaper than what most pay around the country. In regards to BEVMO, since they already order from Lazzari, try and get your local manager to carry the oak. You'll love it. |

Lazzari Charcoal is used by Chez Panise, the restaurant that created "California Cuisine" and created "gourmet pizza" has always used Lazzari. I use it too. It burns hot and fast, like most "lump" so you have to tend it more. Having said all that Lazzari is an excellent product. Kent |

You've moved away from our fair climes and moved to a warmer climate so you can perfect your garage brining? Awsome! Best of luck to you. Please let us know how that goes mmkay? The local BevMo has Lazzari mesquite lump for about the same price. It's pretty good, and about the cheapest I can find around here. Ask the manager to order some of the oak. You'll be glad you did. |
