Default Where to buy a natural gas grill?

I am in hopes someone in this group can tell me where I might be able to buy
a outdoor natural gas grill at a reasonable price in Houston Texas?
A number of years ago I bought a two burner Char-Broil, natural grill, from
Home Depot but I found they do not sell the natural gas grills anymore due
to safety factors. they said they had customers who tried to hook them up to
propane. :-)
Now when I bought my last grill it was around $200 & I have called around to
the high end retail outlets and they want around $1000.

OK, This might be a bit over the heads of some folks, but why not get the
grill you want, and convert to NG?

Just drill out the orifice to match the btu rating of the burner.

Check with your local natural gas installer.

We have a propane grill which will be converted this summer when natural
gas lines are put into our neighbourhood. AFAIK it is just a matter of
changing the jets. In fact, my kitchen stove came with the jets for
natural gas and when it was hooked up, the only thing the technician had
to do was change the jets to the correct ones for propane. We have the
original jets which will be reinstalled at the changeover.

BTW, I did a search on the Home Depot website and found prices varied
for a natural gas bbq from just over $300 to $1800, about the same range
as for propane.

Also, a search for natural gas conversions brought up several sites.
Personally, it's something we will leave to the professionals, but it
doesn't seem to be a very big deal.

Not sure if they are in your area but I bought a Weber natural gas grill at
Ace Hardware a few years ago. After looking around I discovered they had
them for the same price as I found on Amazon & E-Bay. I bought a demo that
came pre-assembled that I picked up and paid no shipping for.

In article , Shawn Martin says...

That is what I did many years ago. I had a natural gas hook-up to the backyard
of my new home. I happend upon the local gas company guy in the neighborhood. I
asked him if he knew anyone that could set me up.

He follows me back to my house and looks at it. He then says he would come by
after work and help me set it up. We meet and go to the hardware store and buy
the fittings and the hose. He brought along the drill to fix the orifice.

I tried to pay him, but he didn't want to take my money. So I did the next best
thing and found out he liked Jack Daniel's. I sent my wife to the store while we
were working and she bought a big bottle of JD. He almost cried when I gave it
to him.

Later I had he and his wife over and grilled some nice steaks. We had JD as our
cocktails, of course.

Thanks for reminding me about this 20+ year old story.

I hear that Strickland's has some knowlegable salespeople. They are in
Arlen, however.

Any Weber gas grill can be purchased with natural gas jets. An existing
propane Weber grill can be converted by changing the jets.

Sam's Club and Costco both offer excellent grills with orifices and
regulators for either LP or NG.

Costco has a BONZO cooker - it's been so popular that they reordered -
unfortunately at $100 extra.
But it has to be concerted Nat Gas or you will have to sell the Ferrari to
pay for PG bills.

Here in Dallas, Lone Star Gas now Atmos used to sell them.
You might check with your NG provider and see if they do.

I live in the Houston area and we bought our natural gas grill at Gas
Products Unlimited. I believe they are in Alvin. We paid $572.64, but I
believe that included installation. It wasn't the cheapest or the best.

There is an upscale store in League City by the name of Chim Chimneys. It's
family owned and operated and they are absolutely wonderful people to deal
with. We bought our Big Green Egg from them.

Thanks for the feed back but I happen to find what I wanted for not too much
money. I found a place in Spring Texas, Cunningham, and was able to buy a
new Char-Broil, 40,000 btu grill for around $101, including the tax.
