What types of things are you hoping to find in such a publication?

I would expect recipes, grill/pit reviews, coverage of BBQ
cookoffs/contests, interviews with professinal Q'ers, etc...

It's actually not a bad idea for a magazine. I've certainly seen
worse ideas for more obscure crowds - like "Cigar Woman Today".

I do some writing, and have a story that would appropriate for such a
magazine.

Have not been able to find one, and rather doubted if there was one, but
thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Some years ago there was one but it folded in less than a year. It never
made the major distribution channels or got enough advertising to make it
big. .

Two reasons:

I enjoy bbq'ing and have for fifty years.

I do some writing, and have a story that would appropriate for such
a magazine.

Have not been able to find one, and rather doubted if there was one,
but thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Besides; the paper it was made from couldn't light a chimney. ;0

Hah! No wonder! The same problem as a newspaper which isn't strong enough to
wrap a fish! Who needs it?

A quick Google search came up with:

An online magazine:
http://www.bbqmagazineonline.com/

An obscure one "Fiery Foods and BBQ"
http://www.fiery-foods.com/ffmag/default.htm

"Q" Magazine:

Without getting into politics, Marty, the Star would give fish a bad
odor, IMHO.
