Default Semi-OT: WSMC... I gotta ask....

OK, I've had my WSMC for two years now. It sits outside on brick
pavers. I've never beat on it, knocked it around, dumped it over, or
even laid the top on the ground upside-down.

But yet, the flaps on the vent covers are bent this way or that.

Are they self-bending? Anybody else have this problem?

What's a WSMC? Are you talking about the WSM?

I'll just keep referring to it by it's long-time moniker of WSM.

Yep, I have the same problem. I wish I understood why. Like you, they
never get banged up and yet I will go out to fire it up and find they
are nearly flattened. The darn rabbits or squirrels must be messing
around my WSM. I don't know.

No problem like that here. Mine's been out 365 for 3-4 years
and we have *tons* of grey squirrels.

If you just cook up a couple of them the rest will stay away from it. g

I've a similar problem on my gas-fired bullet; I think it's just
heat-differential leading to warping.
