"Steve Wertz" wrote in message ... A BBQ restaurant here in Austin was completely gutted by fire last Thursday night while fire-fighters and dispatchers tried to convince 911 callers that it was just brisket cooking. Hear the 911 tapes on the links somewhere on this page. http://www.statesman.com/news/conten...24/24fire.html Classic ****-up. -sw Interesting that they did not at least investigate. We have a plant in town that has a cooling tower outside. It gives off a lot of vapor out the top and at night, in the spotlights, it looks like smoke. At least once a month a caller on the highway reports smoke and two fire companies are dispatched. I'm sure they get tired of it, but they respond every time. |
