One more question. Going to be approx. 30 people. There'll be lots of other food as well, wings, pizza, lots of beer of course... *g* How many racks of ribs should I look at doing? Thanks again! |

There'll be lots of other food as well, wings, pizza, lots of beer of course... *g* How many racks of ribs should I look at doing? Depends on the makeup of the group. All men? Men and women? Kids? If the ribs aren't the centerpiece of the meal, I would figure on 2 ribs per person, 3-4 if it's a group of all men. -- The mark of a good writer is the ability to use the verbiage those reading your comments might readily understand without any misperception and not use language that might obscure the intended meaning and might even depend on the context it is used so as to not obfuscate the true and exact meaning you are attempting to convey. --Mark Ferguson lectures NANAE on how to write goodly. |

A "normal" serving of baby-back ribs is 1/2 rack per person where ribs
are the main course. 43fan wrote: Thanks for all the replies below!! One more question. Going to be approx. 30 people. There'll be lots of other food as well, wings, pizza, lots of beer of course... *g* How many racks of ribs should I look at doing? Thanks again! |

KSW covered the variables fairly well--I'd say 2-3 ribs per person. What's that work out to? Something like 8 or so ribs to the rack? 8-10 racks then. But my guess as to how many ribs to the rack is likely low. Maybe more like 10--then 6-8 racks. (note that too many is better than not enough--you won't have any trouble finding good uses for any leftover ribs...g) -denny- -- The test of courage comes when we are in the minority.
