have you tried the chocolate-covered version?

No.
I'm waiting for someone to market a cheetos style fried pork skin that is
coated in powdered cheddar cheese.
That would be yummy.

apparently a company called "Gram's Gourmet" *used* to make
them, as a low-carb snack food, but they appear to have stopped
distributing that flavor - only the "sweet cinnamon and butter"
flavor seems to be available:

there are places you can get powdered cheese for putting on popcorn,
or you could use the cheese packet from a box of mac-and-cheese
(what to do with the macaroni is left as an exercise for the reader)
get some plain pork rinds and put them in a large Zip-Lock(tm) bag
with the cheese powder, and shake until the rinds are thoroughly
coated. then spread the rinds out on a microwave-safe plate and
nuke them till the cheese melts.

me, i'll have the chocolate-covered pork rinds, hold the pork...

They were pretty good for what they were.

I tried these. They were on sale at the market. I think i got the BBQ
flavor and didn't care for them at all. Wife did like them.

Where I work, I can get vinegar and salt flavored rinds at the snack
bar. Very tasty.

I am thinking that you could get the shake on seasoning for popcorn
(There's a brand with a old sailor looking cartoon guy on the front)
for plain pork rinds. Pour stuff in the bag and shake vigorously. Or,
alternatively, shake on like salt. I used to get it in Chddar and
Garlic Parm. Very nice on popcorn or in mac and cheese (give it that
boost).

When I get hungry for vinegar and salt flavored poofs I tune in Kent Paul
