I'll be gone from the groups for awhile, you see my darling wife was
diagnosed with lung cancer. Few, very few, people survive for long after
lung cancer is found. We don't know yet if the cancer has spread.

Tests to determine the extent of damage will take place next week from
brain, bone and PET scans. But regardless, if she makes it to two years
she'll be typical, yet some do make it past 5 years if it hasn't spread.

You can't imagine how much I love and care for this woman. She truly is
my friend, my lover and my precious wife.

Pray for her if you pray.

Warmest Regards

Mike, I understand, I'm going through cancer, too. I wish you and your wife
nothing but the best. I hope your wife has the most excellent doctors and
oncologists. Give her a gentle hug from TFM® and kili, will you? I'll be
thinking of her on Monday when I go through all my testing at the Mayo
Clinic in Jacksonville.

If you need an ear, feel free to unmunge my e-mail address and drop me a
line.

Very sorry to hear that. I certainly hope she is on the longer end of the
scale. Don't give up hope. And, it sounds like you will be giving her all
the care and attention she deserves. Enjoy your time together.

Having survived cancer I can honestly say the thing that helped me through
it all was faith.
Faith, I learned, is the opposite of fear. Overcoming the fear that comes
with cancer is so important in giving yourself the best chance to recover.
I can't tell someone else what to have faith in, for me, faith in God, my
doctors, my family, my friends helped me face the disease.
You are all in my prayers. Have faith.

Dave

Our prayers are with you and yours Mike. The only disease I know that might
be worse, is Alzheimer's. Having a living lifemate that no longer recognizes
you is about the meanest thing there is for the survivors.

Piedmont,

I'm so sad to hear of your wife's infirmity. It's not the amount of time
left, but its quality, that seems most important to me. I know you'll try
to make every day better than the last for her (and yourself)!
