Some skeptic might say this post is a tad off topic, but since many of
us spend quite a bit of time outdoors by our cookers, I can justify mentioning it here. Harbor Freight is having a sale on their electric fly swatters. For $2.98, you can't go wrong. The suckers will pop a fly, bee, wasp or other flying critter as well as a big bug zapper. If you have a Harbor Freight store anywhere near, I suggest you get several. They make great Christmas presents. -- ---Nonnymus--- In the periodic table, as in politics, the unstable elements tend to hang out on the far left, with some to the right as well. |

Do they work on people, too? See my response to Nonnymus. Looks like it'd be fun on lightning bugs. I thought of that, but never got to try it. I can't find my zapper. See my response to Nonnymus. :-( BOB |

May I also add that you should never pick one up by the grid right after using it. It takes the bleed down resistor a bit of time to discharge it. I speak from experience on this. FWIW, when I was a kid my Dad gave me an old neon sign transformer. That sucker could lay out a magnificent arc and made a really cool Jacob's Ladder- type of toy. I learned from experience that you don't touch the secondary lead with a graphite pencil in your hand. -- ---Nonnymus--- In the periodic table, as in politics, the unstable elements tend to hang out on the far left, with some to the right as well. |
