I'm doing a birthday party on the 9th to commemorate my 70th with my
daughter
and a few friends. Main course will be grilled steak. Sirloin has been
recommended,
but I think T-Bone, Porterhouse, or NY Strips are in order. Since I have
access to
a real butcher, I think I'll order up some good stuff. This event isn't
going to happen
again. Daughter is bringing baked beans and garlic bread. I'm thinking of
serving
up Carolina coleslaw and charcoal baked potatoes. (Potatoes baked naked in
the hot
coals). Probably have greenbeans seasoned with bacon or fatback on the side.
Oh yeh, daughter is bringing ear corn which will be grilled in the husk
before being
stripped and buttered.

I have to go back to work tomorrow, so I'm smoking today.

1 6lb butt
2 racks of ribs
1 small chunk of brisket for pastrami

Oh yeah... I have a few pork chops I need to grill just before chowtime.

Doing baked beans in the smoker and tater salad in the kitchen.

Well, not much time available to be dedicated to cooking I'm
afraid. We spent the majority of the weekend looking for
some property to relax on and for me to deer hunt. Think we
found one. :-)

Anyhow, so given that I'm just going with porterhouse steaks
and zucchini and summer squash on the grill accompanied by
some sweat corn.
