Default Saint Paul Bread Club founder giving a public lecture 5/11/2004

Dan "Klecko" McGleno will be giving a bread-related talk as part of
the program of the Theosophical Society in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Dan
is the founder of the Saint Paul Bread Club.

"Bread Traditions across Religions, from East to West"
a talk by Dan "Klecko" McGleno

Tuesday, May 11, 2004, 7:15 p.m. Sharp
Merriam Park Library, Basement Meeting Room A/B
Corner of Marshall and Fairview in Saint Paul, MN
Free and Open to the Public. All are Welcome!
For more information, call 651-699-7676.

Dan will talk about some of the bread traditions in many of the
world's religions through history and across geography. Bread plays
a role in many religions, from the Nile to the Mississippi, in many
cultures and traditions, in legends, and in histories. Dan will take
us on a historical journey starting with the Egyptians 6500 years
ago, and visiting the Romans, the Poles, Czechs, Germans,
Scandinavians, Northern Africans, the British Islanders, and the
Americans. Dan will talk about the parallels of the "wisdom loaf"
made by both the Celts and the Native Americans.

Dan "Klecko" McGleno is the production manager at the Saint Agnes
Baking Company in Saint Paul, a professional bread baker for 23
years, and a bread historian, educator, and mentor to both
professional and home bread bakers.
