Default Viking mixer...how do attachments fit on?

I took a look at a Viking mixer and couldn't figure out if it was
magnetic or something else that kept the beater in place. It made a
"snap" when inserted, but didn't fit into a slot like on the
KitchenAids.

It looks similar to the DeLonghi modles...that's a weird on also.

I've also heard people say that the Viking beater blade sometimes
falls out. Any truth to this?

Thanks all.
