Default Hot bean sauce?

I am looking for a recipe for Szechuan stir fried noodles.
I found one that looks promising but it calls for hot bean sauce.
What is that? Does it taste like hoisin sauce but hot?
The dish I had in a restaurant did taste like it had hoisin sauce in it.

Also, if anyone has a recipe for stir fried noodles. I'd appreciate having
it.
Thanks
Wayne

Most Chinese groceries have several brands of hot bean sauce.
