Oh, but don't I wish. Sigh. I'm down here in Florida with no
available funds and no vacation time. I've only been to NYC once,
and NY the State twice... And NEVER in the presence of Good Cooks,
Good Food and Good Friends all rolled up in one. I hope everyone has
a grand time and enjoys the occasion.

Don't feel too bad about not being able to make it. At least you have
the excuse of living in a different state... I'm here in Buffalo, NY -
a mere 6-8 hour drive from NYC (depending on how seriously you take
the speed limit), and I have neither the time nor the funding to make
it either - though it does sound like fun...

I, too, hope everyone who *can* make it has a wonderful time.

Ren, is that you? What're you doing in Buffalo?

Yup. It's me.

The hubby got into Graduate School at SUNY-Buffalo, so he packed up
and moved east. A year later when I finished my schooling, I packed up
and moved out here too. That was last July. So I've been here a bit
over a year, and he's been here a bit over two years. I haven't been
in this newsgroup very regularly since we moved until just the past
month or so. I briefly debated wading through the 50,000 unread
posts, but then I came to my senses, deleted them all, and started
over.

I still visit Minneapolis regularly (since most of my family and
friends are there), but the driver's license now says New York.

In another 3 years or so, he'll graduate, and we'll move somewhere
else. As soon as I know where, I'll let everyone else know....
