Default Crab apple pickles?

Whitney crabs are edible, as are Dolgos. Dolgos are kind of an oval
shape and very red, maybe 1.5" high. Whitneys, IIRC, are small and
round, maybe the size of a golf ball. Our flowering (bird food only)
crab is a Sparkler. FWIW.
