Hi, I'm really new to growing, canning, preserving, harvesting etc.

But, is a red jalapeno just a green jalapeno that's stayed on the vine

longer? Is it the same for all hot peppers? Sweet peppers?

Thanks in advance.

Chris

It's true for jalapenos but not for all hot chiles. I have some that
ripen yellow and some ripen orange, most ripen red. Sweet chiles come in
a variety of colors, green, yellow, chocolate, purple, etc. Many of
those that are green at birth ripen to another color. Bell peppers
generally ripen red. Do a Google search for ChileHeads, they used to
have a chile chart on their website.

George

good info.
thanks.
