This is a little out there, but here I go:

I'll be visiting asia in a couple of months and if I have a chance, I'll
be buying a lot of a specific brand and flavor of chewing gum. It's
unique, and hard to get where I live (Memphis, TN USA). I'll decide on
a quantity to buy based on how long it can remain in good quality.
Generally, the packs I order online are stamped with expiration dates
roughly 1 year in the future.

Does anyone know how chewing gum can be preserved beyond its expiration
date? I have guesses that freezing will either be very good or very bad
for this... maybe vacuum sealing? The gum is sold in packs, which
contain individual sticks like Juicy Fruit. I hope to find bulk packs
like those sold to wholesalers.

If anyone knows of a better place to ask or a good site for this type of
trivia, I'd appreciate that too! :-)
