Will this jam mellow?
Last weekend I made a batch of blueberry preserves and had added a
little muslin bag of anise seeds for flavoring. The anise could barely
be tasted, so I added some anise oil. This stuff is very concentrated
and just one drop is enough, but I accidentally added about three
drops to the batch. I saved one jar for myself (in the fridge), and it
has a strong anise flavor. I'd wanted to give the rest of the jars
away during Christmas season, and am wondering if the 2.5 months will
be enough to mellow the anise flavor.
If not, it's good that I like the taste, as I'll probably be eating a
lot of it in the upcoming year.
