Do they cover "strong back"? I have often wondered how the heck that

reputation as a health drink. My earliest memory of the stuff is of
my father at home c. 1957 recovering after an operation, drinking it
because he'd been told it was good for him - he hardly drank any beer
at other times and was not particularly gullible).
I don't know where the idea came from, but I do remember my Great
Grandmother still drinking her crate of guinness a day. She had
started doing it in the late 19th century on the advice of her
doctor to build her up after the birth of her 8th son. She was
still doing it in the late 60's when she was 100 years old so it
may have worked for her:-) Shame I don't like the stuff:-(
