Has anyone had a problem with an Amana bottom freezer refrig,? We
bought
The repair person who came out had no way to know if the factory failed
to
charge the system with freon. Since it cooled for an hour, it had to
have
some refrigerant. All appliances are tested at the factory, so it had to
have passed the quality control tests before it was shipped. After the
service tech put more refrigerant in your system it cooled for a while
longer. Simple logic indicates that there is a leak. The leak could
have
been the result of a manufacturing or material fault or could have
occurred
in shipping. Your dealer may have accidentally damaged the unit.
cutting some very good stuff
Wow! You gave some very good advice and I printed it out to refer to when
I
get on this tomorrow. Thank you so much for your help.

Good luck. I hope that the dealer will take care of it for you without any
trouble. I always try to start out very pleasant and hope for the best. I
had a very bad experience recently with a contractor that lead to legal
action on my part. When I saw that things were going badly I started to
document every detail. I followed up every conversation with a letter or
email and took lots of pictures. When it came time to get an attorney, all
the work was done. At the arbitration hearing I had everything well
documented and he had nothing. Needles to say, things went my way and
having everything documented made a very stressful situation more
manageable. On a brighter note, I have had an Amana refrigerator for nearly
8 years and I am well satisfied. It is the best refrigerator that I ever
had. I know that they were bought by Maytag, so things may have changed.
My Jenn Air range (by Maytag) of the same age is poorly designed and has had
some major problems.
