Kamado lids are spring-loaded on the 3 larger sizes. Where are you? post a
question on the Kamado forum, and I'll bet someone will invite you over for a
sampling.

I did just what you said probably about a year ago and didn't get a single
nibble other than the "you won't be disappointed" type. My concern was really
the weight of the lids and my butter fingers dropping and banging it down. I
did run and take a look at the BGE though.
