A quick rinse probably wouldn't hurt, although I wouldn't wash the gills.
Mushrooms will absorb moisture and get soggy if over-washed. We just wipe
off any dirt with a damp cloth. Other than the texture, I've never noticed
any flavor loss from washing.

Alton Brown did an experiment on his HGTV show "Good Eats" and debunked
the "mushrooms soak up water" theory.
