Art, thanks. Gourmail is exactly what I needed. They have several
dipping chocolates listed, though 11 pounds will last me a while!
I appreciate the book suggestion. I am working from the book
"Candymaking" by Kendrick and Atkinson, but if I get more serious into
this project I'll get the Recchiuti book.

Would someone kindly recommend an internet source for dipping
chocolate? I want to make some chocolate-dipped candies and haven't
found dipping chocolate locally.
Good brands to buy or a recipe for making dipping chocolate would be
helpful, too.
Well, two sources that are worth checking out are :
http://www.chocosphere.com/
and
http://www.gourmail.com/
As far as which chocolate, it all depends on your taste and your wallet. ;-)
The best chocolate is expensive there is no beating around that. It will
make a huge difference in the final result.
Probably the best economical book on confections is Michael Recchiuti's book
Chocolate Obsession: Confections and Treats to Create and Savor.

Hope this helps,
