I have a KSM90, purchased in 1987, that has started dripping oil, although
not as bad as Dee's. My mixer has NEVER been stored on it's side, so
obviously there is another reason for the problem. If, as you imply, the
dripping is not a problem with the "oil properties", maybe it's a problem
with the gear box iteself. Any ideas?

I work for KitchenAid, and I can assure you that it is EXTREMELY rare
for there to be oil drainage out of our mixers UNLESS they have been
stored on their sides for some amount of time (not saying that was the
case for Dee). The oil properties have been established and used for
almost 70 years, and I am very confident this formulation is very
appropriate for the KitchenAid gear box.
