Sounds good! The California/Azorean version of this uses pinto beans
and linguica and potato is often used instead of beans (faster
cooking). It is also similar to a Croatian soup where the beans are
'cranberry' or borlotti and the sausage is the regional version of
kobasica.
Kobasica is similar to linguica in texture, is flavored with garlic,
black pepper, and rosemary, and is heavily smoked. They have something
similar at the Corralitos Market.
