This and "beer & pizza" are such foreign concepts to me. Beer
completely overwhelms any food tast, you might as well not even be
eating (unless it's Ziti - THAT goes great with beer).

But for a big juicey pounder with loads of cheese and onions, a
heaping glass of Coke is the only thing I like with it. Beer's great
if you want to get hammered, but with food? I never got on that
bandwagon. . .

It depends on the beer. A variety of beers can be paired with a
variety foods in much the same way as certain wines are often paired
with certain foods. Generally, I think your choices are more limited
for beers that are good matches to most greasy foods like burgers or
pizza, but it isn't impossible to find something that works. Of
course, everyone's tastes are a little different.
