so 60-70% by weight and what would be the volume?

1 pound of fat produces how much lard by volume?

Thanks for the response!

Trying to figure out how much lard I am going to have to render (how
much fat to buy) to fry up some turkeys...peanut oil sux and I don't
want to use the hydrogenated lard available at the store.

Wow, that's an ambitious project! But you may want to think about where you
render the lard from. I have heard that best quality lard comes from
specific locations in the pig and not just from any old fat. I do not know
the details but you might want to look into it before going to all that
expense and effort.
