Mugg & Bean Rosebank Mall
Mark and I popped in to the Mugg & Bean for a late lunch before
heading off to the movies.
I was puzzled that the bottomless iced tea wasn't available as the
weather is already warm. Bottomless hot chocolate was available.
We ordered a gypsy ham and tomato sandwich. We were given a pressed
ham and tomato sandwich which we pointed out to the manager on duty.
The manager apologised and offered a replacement which we declined.
We didn't have a major problem with the ham, but it does seem to be
unfair that one would substitute a cheaper product, perhaps on the
basis that most customers wouldn't know the difference anyway.
The service was alright, even good, right up to the end when it came
to time to pay. Mark had left a generous tip. The service became
non-existent, I couldn't get my loyalty card back and it was never
credited with the bill. In the end Mark went and retrieved the tip
and my card.
There are at least four coffee shops in the immediate vicinity,
Bourbons, TriBeCa, M&A and Mugg & Bean. This *should*, in theory,
lead to excellent service as the various places vie for customers.
No. Not true.
I use them all at times, and I posted yesterday about my visit to
TriBeCa. Mugg & Bean has usually been one of the better ones but it
didn't live up to expectations today.
And the lack of credit to my loyalty card rankled.

I hope my standard of living doesn't go up. I can't afford the one
I have now.
