California and Washington have reciprocal agreements for wine shipments.
There is nothing illegal about shipping the wine via UPS or Fed Ex (but then
you'd have the shipper box instead of the case box it comes in). If you plan
on driving it yourself, that is perfectly legal too - just keep it in a cool
place in the car.

Cheers!

He is in Washington. But what is wrong with just puting the wine
(case) in the trunk of a car. i didn't think bringing wine was
illegal.

Liquor laws are very tricky as there is no national standard. I would
repeat my advice that if you want a nice case talk to a local merchant

they
can get one for you. It is not only the very expensive wines that come in

a
nice box. Marquis de Chasse from france retails at under 10USD and yet as
recently as two years ago was shipping in wood boxes. As to the wine

itself
well . . .
