Here, here. We stayed right off the square a few yrs. back for a week. I
think
the rental car left the parking lot one time for a meal.
There are just _so many_ great places to eat within a few blocks.
There are lots of artsy types there who'll look down their noses at you,
but
hey, screw 'em.
Go north to Taos. Fine eat's and only 10% of the artist crowd. At least
when I lived there back in the early 80's. Maybe things change?

Northern New Mexico has lots of great places to eat. Another place to
visit is Espanola. Home of some great New Mexican restaurants.
Checkout a long list of them at:
http://EspanolaOnline.com
There's a guy that sells BBQ on the side of the road on weekends.
He does a great job. There's also a Q place just north of Espanola
in Embudo called "Sugar's" - Of couse Albuquerque has some
real good BBQ restaurants too!
