When using logs or bug chunks in an offset do you have to pre burn
them before adding?

Also any source for logs in Orlando? I'm using a NBS if it matters.
Guess smaller log pieces would be better.

I live in your neck of the woods and have many friends with Oak trees.
I get scraps of Oak all the time. I keep a big pile out of site and
covered and let it get good and dry. I use it in my smoker all the
time.

What works for me is to get it lit in a chimmney starter,, let it burn
down to coals, and then add it to the smoker. This is a great time of
year to get oak because of all the storms we're having.

Whats the general time needed to cure wood? From what I've read here
it seems about a year.
