Best in the USA.
The blonde & dark doppelbocks are also very good. After that, then I
think the Kloster Weizen for me.
The blonde doppelbock recently came out, and it has never been better (All
About Beer gives it a glowing review and a 97 score). It is almost syrupy
dense in its maltiness, but still bright and alive in its potency--and when
really fresh it is a big, boistrous, kicker of a beer.
The Capitol Autumnal Fire is gone--but that is a unique, dark-amber, lighter
styled-dopplebock from Capitol that is also happily malty but still potent
and dry.
The Kloster Weizen is very distinctive too, but I got tired of all that
banana and have gone back to Schneider and Paulaner.
